In order to qualify for an A+ rating, law firms must achieve a high score in several categories. These categories are designed to determine a law firm’s trustworthiness, commitment to honesty and excellence, and overall quality of performance and client satisfaction.

- Transparent business practices

- Failure to abide by BBB commitments
The BBB collects files on each candidate and reviews the information to determine the quality rating score. If there have been numerous complaints, or the law firm raises marketplace issues, or acts in a way that is dishonest or violates the law, the firm will receive a low rating score. However, if the firm benefits the economy, has a high level of ethical standards, and abides by fair and transparent business practices, it will receive a higher rating. The grade is ranked on a 100-point scale. In order to qualify for an A+ rating, the candidate must receive at least 97 points or above.
